Research institutes

The Institute of Science and Technology for Ceramics (CNR ISTEC) – Italy – is multidisciplinary research laboratory with long term activity programs on the whole range of ceramic materials. ISTEC-CNR, which has its main quarter in Faenza, is specifically involved in scientific research, technology transfer and education on ceramic materials. Research activities are targeted to design materials with desired properties and improved performance

The Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Cientificas – SPAIN – has a multidisciplinary and multisectorial nature, with 123 institutes and more than 11000 workers. Instituto de Cerámica y Vidrio (ICV) is the only structure in Spain with long term activity programs on the whole range of ceramic materials and glasses, with 120 workers (40 researchers, 64 technical, 20 administrative).
